The Xiaomi ShowSee A1-W Hair Dryer does not come with much in the box and the first time I opened up the Xiaomi ShowSee A1-W Hair Dryer I was presented only with the A1-W hair dryer, an instruction manual highlighting the uses and controls and the removable head.

I personally loved the Xiaomi ShowSee A1-W Hair Dryers simple and elegant design. There’s not much going on with it, but because it’s all white, I was afraid of it getting dirtied quickly.

That wasn’t the case and the matte finish body of the Xiaomi ShowSee A1-W Hair Dryer didn’t get dirty, rather the white began fading all around.

However, even if it did get dirty, it’s pretty easy to clean and all I needed was a soft cloth and some water to wipe away any grease or dirt that collected on the body.

The cord is approx 180cm long and I found the length to be more than enough to connect the hair dryer to any power socket nearby and move around with ease.

At the top of the A1-W is the detachable head that can be rotated 360-degrees. This head can be removed by tilting it to the side and pulling it off the A1-W. This section is coated with an insulated material so it won’t get hot when using it.

Just under the head is the two button control unit that lets me switch between hot and cold air as well as different air flow speeds. The toggle switch can get a bit hard after a point, but it can be loosened by pressing the button in and sliding it up or down.

At the back of the A1-W hair dryer is a large vent that’s protected with mesh. This mesh is not as porous but is good enough to prevent dust and dirt from entering the hair dryer and shorting it.

The one factor I really liked about the design and build of the Xiaomi ShowSee A1-W Hair Dryer is that it’s really lightweight and portable. I was able to safely carry it in my handbag while traveling and it didn’t take up too much space.

On record, the Xiaomi ShowSee A1-W hair dryer weighs hardly 450grams and that’s inclusive of the removable head unit.

In terms of functionality and capabilities, the ShowSee A1-W didn’t disappoint me even one bit. The hair dryer does as it’s intended to and the only benefit of the A1-W is that it comes with a cold air setting which actually blows out cold air.

For hot air, I found two settings on the front of the hair dryer, one that delivered hot air at slow speeds and the second setting increased the air flow and produced hot air at really high speeds.

The high speed setting was quite powerful and really noisy, so I started using the slow speed setting to dry my hair and then for the last minute or two I would switch over to the cold setting and that really did a good job at drying my hair and locking in any remaining moisture.

Coupled with EHD constant temperature protection, this hair dryer kept my hair safe and delivered heat evenly throughout and did not burn my hair even once while using it.

The removable head made it easier to use and I could adjust the head by rotating it to direct the flow to any particular region of my head.

I liked using the A1-W mainly because of the removable head as it made it easier for me to dry my hair while using a comb or brush. The best part is the removable head does not overheat, so it can be handled even after using the A1-W for some time.

Apart from this, the A1-W is marketed as a negative ion hair dryer, in terms of whether or not this is true, I was only able to find that the hair dryer did not build any static electricity in my hair and instead it helped keep my hair healthy and soft.
