In my opinion, electric scooters are some of the best ways to travel to work or school. They are quick, convenient, easy, and fun to use. No wonder they are growing in popularity and there’s so much competition in the market.
Ninebot is one of the biggest brands when it comes to electric scooters, consumer go-karts, electric bikes, and more. They have some of the best electric scooters in the market and Xiaomi has partnered with them to develop their electric scooters.
The Xiaomi M365 Pro 2 is a product of this partnership, yet it competes directly against Ninebot’s product too. The Ninebot Max G30LP is a recent and very popular electric scooter from Ninebot, so let’s see how these both compare against each other.

Body & Design
The Xiaomi M365 Pro 2 and the Ninebot Max G30LP feature metal frames, making them both very sturdy. Xiaomi uses aerospace-grade aluminum on the M365 Pro 2 while the G30LP uses high-quality aluminum for its body frame. Both scooters are well built and are very sturdy.

When it comes to design, I prefer the black and red accents on the Xiaomi M365 Pro 2 over the black and beige with yellow accents on the Max G30LP. Overall, I feel that the Xiaomi M365 Pro 2 looks minimalistic and sleek, which I love more than the G30LP.
The M365 Pro 2 has a less bulky footrest which includes the battery too, this makes it look better over the bulky Max G30LP. This extra added bulk is because of the larger battery and an in-built charger, which means that you can charge the G30LP using just a cable, which adds to the convenience.

Both scooters can only support a max of 100 kg load. Both also feature a similar footrest area of, 21.6 inches long and 7 inches wide. The footrests are rubberized on both scooters so that the users won’t slip. And along the side of the footrest, you can also find fold-out stands on both scooters.
When unfolded, the Xiaomi M365 Pro 2 is larger in length and height, but shorter in width than the Ninebot Max G30LP. When folded, the M365 Pro 2 is shorter than the Max G30LP making the M365 Pro 2 easier to sit in small places. The Max G30LP also weighs significantly more than the M365 Pro 2, making it harder to carry around. The M365 Pro 2 is around 7.3 pounds lighter than the G30LP.
Since both scooters have the battery under their footrest, the riding experience is similar. Previous Ninebot models had batteries in the handlebar so there was a shift in the center of gravity to the front. I am glad they fixed this because now it is more comfortable and blanched to ride the G30LP, just like the Xiaomi M365 Pro 2.
So overall, the design and portability of the Xiaomi M365 Pro 2 make it a better choice over the Ninebot G30LP. Both scooters are very similar when it comes to quality of build so both should last long.
Motor
The electric motor in these scooters is responsible for how fast they can go. The more powerful the motor, the faster an electric scooter can go. The Xiaomi M365 Pro 2 features a 300W motor that can offer 600W peak power, this translates to a top speed of 15.5 mph. The Ninebot Max G30LP runs on a 350W motor with a peak power of 700W and this translates into a top speed of 18.6 mph.

Both Xiaomi and Ninebot advertise 20% slope climbing capability on their scooters. While it might feel that Xiaomi is overestimating because of the lower-powered motor, it is also the lighter scooter, and Ninebot may be downplaying their climbing abilities. Regardless, both scooters should be able to climb slopes.
One more thing to know about the motors is that Xiaomi has housed the motor inside the front wheel of the M365 Pro 2, while Ninebot has taken a different approach. Ninebot has housed the motor at the rear wheel of the Max G30LP and claims that this offers better acceleration, stability, and braking capability.
Battery
The battery capacity of an electric scooter affects the range it can travel. The larger the battery the farther you can travel. But this also means that the scooter will be heavier and will take longer to charge.
The Xiaomi M365 Pro 2 comes with a 446 Whr battery that can provide a maximum range of 28 miles. In comparison, the Ninebot Max G30LP features a 367 Whr battery that can do 25 miles on a single charge. While 3 miles doesn’t seem like a lot, it’s impressive that Xiaomi was able to cram a larger battery while being lighter.
Another cool thing is that the M365 Pro 2 needs only 6 hours to charge the battery while it takes 6.5 hours for a significantly smaller battery in the Max G30LP. But you should know that Ninebot also sells a costlier version known as the Ninebot Max G30P that features a larger battery with a longer range.
And as I mentioned before, the Ninebot Max G30LP uses a built-in charger, which means you can charge it using just a cable, while the Xiaomi M365 Pro 2 will require a dedicated charger.
LED Lights & Display
LED lights and a display are features that improve the overall experience of owning an electric scooter. These are not just for convenience but a safety feature as well. LED lights will improve visibility during a foggy day or the night. And the display can indicate the battery life and a speedometer for safe traveling.
Both the Xiaomi M365 Pro 2 and the Ninebot Max G30LP include LCD screens that display information, both these displays look the same too. The displays provide you with battery life, statuses, settings, and a speedometer.
Both scooters also offer the same 3 driving modes, an ECO mode (9.5 mph), a standard D mode (12.5 mph), and an S sports mode (15.5 mph). There is a fourth driving mode for the Ninebot Max GP30LP, which lets it go up to 18.6 mph.
When it comes to lighting, the M365 Pro 2 has a 2W LED light on the front and a tail light that works when the brakes are applied. There is also an additional reflector on the front, while the tail light doubles as a reflector and a brake light. The Ninebot Max G30LP has a 2.5W front LED and a red brake light too.
So in this category, it is a draw, as both are fairly evenly matched.
Tires
Tires dictate how comfortable your ride can be. The Xiaomi M365 Pro 2 uses two 8.5 inch tires while the Ninebot Max G30LP uses two 10-inch tires. Both scooters use pneumatic tires which means that the ride will be more comfortable than solid rubber tires.

This means that both tires are susceptible to punctures but at the same time, they will offer a smoother riding experience. The bigger tires of the Ninebot Max GP30LP also mean that it will be more comfortable and easy to control over the M365 Pro 2.
Brakes
Both the Xiaomi M365 Pro 2 and the Ninebot Max G30LP use a dual brake system. The M365 Pro 2 uses an eABS regenerative brake system on the front and a disc brake on the back. The Ninebot Max GP30LP uses an eABS regenerative braking system on the back wheel and a mechanical brake on the front. These setups mean that both scooters will offer a similar braking experience. The brakes on both scooters are controlled using the brake handles on the steering bar. You can also adjust the strength of brakes in the apps of each electric scooter.
App Connectivity
Speaking of apps, both Xiaomi and Ninebot have their own for their scooters. The Xiaomi M365 Pro 2 can connect to the Mi Home app and the Ninebot app. While the Ninebot Max G30LP can connect only to the Ninebot app.

Both the Mi Home app and the Ninebot app are available for iOS and Android, so you won’t be left out. These apps can control the lights, settings and display information and statuses of the scooters. From my experience, the interface of the Ninebot app was better, it was also the smoother of the two apps. So, I would use the Ninebot app regardless of which scooter you use.
Conclusion
Both the Xiaomi M365 Pro 2 and the Ninebot Max G30LP are great electric scooters. There’s very little setting them apart. While the M365 Pro 2 can run longer, the G30LP can run faster. Both are equal in terms of build quality.
These use the same type of tires, with the bigger tire offering a slight advantage to the G30LP. The smaller tires and overall lighter build help the M365 Pro 2 to be much more portable. So everything evens out in the end.
The only major difference that could affect your purchase would be price. Generally, the Xiaomi M365 Pro 2 is cheaper, making it the better buy, but the Ninebot Max G30LP is on sale regularly so that you can snatch it at a similar price. So, my recommendation would be to go with the Xiaomi M365 Pro 2, unless you need the extra speed of the G30LP and if it is cheaper on sale.
