The ultimate selling point of the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G is its design. This is the lightest and the slimmest 5G smartphone of 2021 and 2022. At just 6.8mm and 158 grams, the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G feels amazing in hand. It is sleek, lightweight and a breath of fresh air compared to the bulky phones of today.

Apart from the slim and lightweight design, the phone has a glass back and a cool-looking triple camera island on the back. The front is almost all screen except for the tiny bezels and that punch hole camera cutout. 

The Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G has stereo speakers with an amplified earpiece speaker. The other speaker is on the bottom, next to the USB-C port. The Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G has the volume and power buttons on the right side. This makes it easy to access them. 

The power button is also the fingerprint sensor on the 11 Lite NE 5G. The sensor is fast, responsive, and ergonomic. The hybrid SIM card slot is on the bottom, you can either use 2 SIMs or 1 SIM and a microSD card. That is all there is to know about the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G’s design in Idia.

The phone is designed exquisitely, and the slim and lightweight design looks and feels great. My only complaint is that there is no 3.5mm jack, but that is the sad trend nowadays with smartphones. 

Other than that I have no complaints with the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G’s design. It even has an IP53 rating for some dust and water resistance. 

You can get the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G in Malaysia in four color options, Vinyl Black, Jazz Blue, Tuscany Coral, and Diamond Dazzle. My favorite is the Jazz Blue variant.

The Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G has a gorgeous display. It features a 10-bit 6.55-inch AMOLED panel with 2400 x 1080 pixels. The phone also has a 90 Hz refresh rate which is a good addition. The Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G’s display is bright, vivid and a treat to look at.

The 10-bit AMOLED panel is amazing as it supports up to 1 billion colors. This makes the display vibrant and colorful. The display is also sharp thanks to the 1080p resolution with over 402 Pixels per Inch (PPI). The phone has a typical brightness level of 500 nits and a peak brightness of 800 nits which makes it ideal for any condition, indoors or outdoors.

The 90 Hz refresh rate and 180 Hz touch sampling rate are not the best in class but rather a cost-saving measure. This is one area where Xiaomi should have done better as almost all phones in this price category have at least a 120 Hz refresh rate, which looks better and feels more responsive. 

Overall, there is not much to dislike and a lot to like about the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G’s display. It looks awesome, has small bezels, good brightness, and support for Dolby Vision and HDR10+. The only downside is its 90Hz refresh rate, which is good but not on par with the competition.

Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G Malaysia Performance

You might think that a slim phone with a lightweight design won’t be able to perform well, but that is not the case with the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 778G which is a capable chip for any task you throw at it.

The original Xiaomi 11 Lite launched with the Snapdragon 732G which was a 4G chip and was underwhelming in performance. Then Xiaomi released the 11 Lite 5G which had a snapdragon 780G but was limited to few markets and was a bit expensive. 

Finally, Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G launched with a perfect mix of price, performance, and features. The Snapdragon 778G is powerful yet power efficient. It is one of the best chips from 2021. The Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G can handle anything, even high-end games like Genshin Impact with ease. 

Xiaomi didn’t skimp on RAM or storage either, you get 6/8 GBs of superfast LPDDR4X RAM and 128 GBs of UFS 2.2 storage. The processor, RAM, storage, and display come together to offer an excellent experience in terms of performance. Everything feels fluid and responsive.

It is easily one of the best-performing smartphones in the price range that is not a gaming phone. It balances everything well, offering a complete package to its users. I am impressed with the performance of the size and price of the phone. 

Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G Malaysia Camera

The 64 MP lead camera of Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G is ably supplemented by a 119° 8MP ultra-wide and a 5MP ‘Telemacro’ on the rear side. This phone lacks an optical image stabilization feature. The inbuilt electronic stabilization feature of this model in combination with the large lead sensor helps shoot competent images of 16MP.

The AI shooting mode enabled can assure a great photography experience. While the phone’s exposure and color science want to be loyal to the real-life scenes captured, the AI enhancement of this phone helps achieve interesting tweaks to the pictures.

This phone is not built for shooting pictures and videos under extremely low light as the results are not that impressive. When a light source is present and the subject you capture is not moving around, the dedicated night mode can capture pictures of decent quality.

Xiaomi has loaded this phone with versatile and feature-rich camera software. The phone sports four primary shooting modes. In addition, the other modes that the software supports like long exposure, clone, and vlog are really useful.

Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G Malaysia Battery

The Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G’s battery specs might not sound amazing because the phone is super thin and lightweight. Xiaomi can onl6y cram in so much battery into a 6.8mm chassis. And the design also doesn’t allow Xiaomi to add superfast charging speeds for safety purposes.

However, the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G is not a bad phone in terms of battery life. The phone has a 4250 mAh cell that supports 33W fast charging. 4250 mAh sounds less nowadays, but couple that with an efficient 778G processor and Xiaomi’s battery management software, the 11 Lite NE 5G offers good battery life that can comfortably last for a day.

With most Xiaomi phones featuring 67W and 120W charging technology nowadays, 33W sounds mediocre, but for safety reasons, this was the max Xiaomi was able to provide in a device so thin. And since the battery is comparatively smaller, it doesn’t take too long to charge the phone. 

The Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G bests smartphones like the Samsung A33 and A53 in the battery department even though they cost more. The 11 Lite NE 5G offers better charging speeds and a charger in the box while Samsung doesn’t. This is a huge factor for mid-range phones where cost is everything. 

Overall, while not impressed, I’m certainly happy with the battery of the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G. The battery life is good, and the charging speeds are adequate.
