The Xiaomi Pad 5 is has a premium, slim, and lightweight design. The Xiaomi Pad 5’s frame is made from aluminum, while the black is plastic and the front obviously is glass. The Xiaomi Pad 5 is super slim at just 6.9mm, which is slimmer than almost all smartphones nowadays. It also weighs just 511g despite its size.

Even though the back is made out of plastic, it doesn’t feel cheap. The matte finish gives it a smooth and premium feel making it nice to hold. The front has no protection, which is a bummer, you will have to use tempered glass for protection.

The power button is on the top, while the volume rockers are on the right side. The USB-C port is on the bottom. You can find four speaker grills in total, two on the top and two on the bottom. The four speakers come together to offer excellent sound quality with Dolby Atmos support. 

The Xiaomi Pad 5 has support for accessories like a Pen and a Keyboard. The keyboard connectors are on the left side of the frame, while the right side of the frame is magnetic for Pencil charging.

Overall, the design is simply amazing for the price. It’s slim, lightweight, and feels great. Build quality could have been better, as there’s no gorilla glass protection. However, for the price, I have no complaints about it. Even the colors look great. You can choose the Xiaomi Pad 5 in Cosmic Gray, Pearl White, and Green colored options.

I’m impressed with the performance of the Xiaomi Pad 5. With more software tweaks, it will shine even more.

Xiaomi has already baked in some tablet specific features that make multitasking better which in turn improves productivity. While Android tablets are not at the level of iPads, Google, Samsung, and Xiaomi are trying to change that.
