Xiaomi Dreame V11 vs Dyson V11

Let’s see if Xiaomi can put up a good fight with its Dreame V11 cordless vacuum cleaner against the ever-popular Dyson V11 Animal. 

Design

At a glance, both the Dreame V11 from Xiaomi and the V11 Animal from Dyson look and function similarly. The only difference being the color schemes they come in. We have the red and grey version of the Dreame V11 and a mix of purple and blue for the Dyson V11. 

Both the Xiaomi Dreame V11 and the Dyson V11 Animal come with a dust-gathering tank and motor part, which also has a handle attached. Both vacuum cleaners also feature displays on these handles for you to control them conveniently. You also get detachable rods and attachments for both vacuum cleaners that you can fix as needed. 

These vacuum cleaners and handheld devices so you get handles on both devices. These handles also come with a power trigger on both vacuum cleaners, which makes them easy and convenient to use. I have to be honest, it is also fun to use, it’s like a gun, but operates backward. 

Both Xiaomi and Dyson haven’t compromised on the build quality but the Dyson feels like it is built better. This shows in the weight of the product too, the Dyson V11 Animal weighs 6.68 lbs while the Xiaomi Dreame V11 comes in considerably less at 3.68 lbs. 

Overall, both vacuum cleaners are built well and feel very nice when held. But, if you want a lightweight vacuum cleaner,  then go with the Xiaomi Dreame V11, but if you prioritize the best build quality then the Dyson is the one for you.

Xiaomi Dreame V11 and Dyson V11 Animal are some of the most feature-rich cordless vacuum cleaners you can get right now. They come with pretty everything you can ask for in a cordless vacuum cleaner. 

Both the Dreame V11 and the V11 Animal come with screens that provide you with information and allow you to control the modes and settings. The Dyson V11 Animal comes with an LCD screen while the Xiaomi Dreame V11 sports an OLED display.  

The Xiaomi Dreame V11 features a HEPA filter that can capture up to 99.7% of dust particles. This filter is the same one that’s found in Air Purifiers so you can technically purify the air in your home with this filter. On the other hand, the Dyson V11 Animal uses an advanced six-stage filtration method developed by Dyson themselves. This method should also do very well when it comes to capturing particles and dust. The filters on both of them are washable, which makes them great for years of cleaning.

Both cordless vacuum cleaners come with multiple cleaning modes that you can adjust easily on their displays. The displays will also show error messages, battery life indications, and the operating mode. Performance

The Xiaomi Dreame V11 and the Dyson V11 Animal both come with powerful 125,000 rpm motors. These motors can run at different speeds according to your needs. The Xiaomi Dreame V11 comes with three modes, an Eco mode, a Standard, and a High power mode. The Dyson V11 Animal similarly has three modes namely, Eco, Auto, and Boost mode with Eco being the least powerful, while Boost being the most powerful. 

While both vacuum cleaners have equally powerful motors, they don’t come with the same suction power. The Dyson V11 Animal has a suction power of 185 AW which is higher than the 150 A of suction power found on the Xiaomi Dreame V11. Theoretically, this means that the Dyson V11 will do cleaning a bit better when it comes to carpets, blankets, etc. But in practice both perform similarly and they clean very well. 

Hard Floor – When it comes to hard floor cleaning, both the Xiaomi and the Dyson perform similarly and clean everything on their path. If you only have hard flooring, then you can’t go wrong with either handheld vacuum cleaner. 

Carpet – When it comes to carpet cleaning, we can see some differences, this is where the costlier Dyson V11 does better. The V11 almost cleans up everything on a carpet thanks to the soft and stiff bristles on its brush. This doesn’t mean that the Dreame V11 is bad, it does a great job too especially considering the price. 

I feel like the best mode for both vacuum cleaners is their medium-powered modes, that is Standard mode on the Xiaomi Dreame V11 and the Auto mode on the Dyson V11. These modes clean very well while also giving you good battery life. 

And finally, when it comes to dust storage, the Xiaomi Dreame V11 can hold up to 0.6 liters of waste. The Dyson V11 Animal features a 0.76-liter dust bin. This allows the Dyson V11 Animal to collect much more dust and particles than the Xiaomi Dreame V11. 

So, if you have a large home, I would advise you to invest in Dyson, but the Xiaomi Dreame V11 will be enough for most homes. Removal of these storages is easy too, you can just click on the latch and they will pop out. When it comes to cleaning performance, both vacuum cleaners are evenly matched, but Dyson takes the edge here because it comes with a larger bin, but at the cost of weighing a lot more. So pick your poison.

Attachments and Tools

Both cordless vacuum cleaners come with multiple tools/attachments to clean different surfaces and materials. Along with the machine, adapter, metal articulating rod, and two-in-one charging rod you also get a mite deletion brush, an all-surface soft cashmere roller brush, a two-in-one flat brush, and a two-in-one brush, and an extension hose too. You can use these to clean different surfaces very efficiently. 

Similarly, the Dyson V11 Animal comes with many attachments too. These include a direct drive brush, a combination tool, a crevice tool, a quick release mini soft dusting brush, a charger, a mini motorized tool, and the vacuum cleaner itself. 

For cleaning your sofa, car seat, and beds, you can use the mite deletion brush for the Dreame V11 and the mini motorized tool on the V11 Animal.  For tiles and windows, you can use the two-in-one brush on the Dreame V11 or the quick-release mini soft dusting brush on the Dyson V11 Animal. 

Both vacuum cleaners are very competitive when it comes to offering tools, and you can pretty much clean every nook and corner of your home with them. And these attachments can be easily removed and fitted making them very convenient. Both vacuum cleaners have got it right when it comes to offering the right attachments.

Battery 

Let’s talk about the battery life of these vacuum cleaners as they are cordless. The Dyson V11 Animal can run up to 60 minutes in its Eco mode. But when you run it on Boost mode, it will last a max of 10 minutes only. And in Auto mode, the Dyson V11 Animal can run up to 30 minutes on a full charge. This balances battery life and performance making the best mode out of the three.

On the other hand, the Xiaomi Dreame V11 can run up to 90 minutes at a stretch. This is in the lowest power mode. And on the medium mode, the Dreame V11 can go up to 30 minutes of vacuuming. And the highest power mode, the Dreame V11 matches the V11 Animals’ battery life of 10 minutes. 

So, here too, both Vacuum cleaners are evenly matched, with Xiaomi offering better battery life only when running in Eco mode. I would give the edge to Xiaomi but only just as I feel like they are very similar in battery life in their respective medium modes.

Conclusion

This is a hard comparison, I feel like both products in comparison are great products. They get everything right and very little sets them up apart until you consider the price. Both products perform and clean very well, with a slight edge over the Dyson V11 Animal. 

Both products come with all the attachments you will ever need, they are also evenly matched when it comes to features like a display and washable filters. The Xiaomi Dreame V11 does edge out the Dyson V11 Animal when it comes to battery life but only by a little. And while the Xiaomi Dreame V11 is lightweight, the Dyson V11 Animal includes a larger dust bin. 

I would call it a draw between the two products but there is still one aspect left for comparison and that is price. The Xiaomi Dreame V11 comes in at 400$ while the Dyson V11 Animal costs 549$. This makes me recommend the Xiaomi Dreame V11 without any gestation over the Dyson V11 Animal. The Xiaomi Dreame V11 blows the Dyson V11 Animal out of the water, there is no competition in my opinion when factoring in price and value for money.
